Mike Epps Calls for Philadelphia Eagles to Boycott White House Visit

Comedian Mike Epps kept his response short and simple when asked by a TMZ reporter whether or not he thinks the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles ought to accept the President’s invitation to visit the nation’s capital, on Tuesday, February 6. The Eagles should “not go to the White House,” said Epps as he made his way down a New York City street in the company of friends.

“Trump don’t even live there. So why they going somewhere that Trump don’t even live at,” he said.

Indeed there have been a few players who’ve already come forward to declare that they will not be in attendance when team owners Jeffrey and Christina Lurie head down with the Super Bowl LII ring bearers in tow. Among them are safety Malcolm Jenkins, wide receiver Torrey Smith, and the former Patriots tandem of running back LeGarrette Blount and defensive end Chris Long – who both boycotted last year’s visit with New England.

While Jenkins, Smith, and Long have been outspoken critics of the President, there are likely to be more members of the team who choose to protest, according to Smith. During a Tuesday night appearance on CNN, the former Ravens champ told Don Lemon that he is aware of “plenty of guys who said they do not plan on going.”
