13-month-old baby rushed to the hospital after ingesting cocaine

The Atlanta Journal Constutution is reporting that a 13-month-old boy in Atlanta was taken to the hospital after the child ingested cocaine at his mother’s home. His mother, who is 17 years old, took the baby to the hospital and is considered a witness at this time.

Warrants have been issued for the child’s grandmother and her boyfriend.  The child was released from the hospital and is now recovering.  At this time it is unknown how much cocaine the child ingested.

Active warrants were issued Monday for Ebony Daniel, 34, and Charlie Martin, 22, charging both with possession of cocaine, cruelty to children in the first degree and reckless conduct, according to Sgt. Lee Gragg of the Palmetto Police Department.

A 13-month-old south Fulton County boy was taken to the hospital after ingesting cocaine, and authorities are now looking for the child’s grandmother and her boyfriend, police told Channel 2 Action News.

The child’s 17-year-old mother is considered a witness and has not been charged, Gragg said.
