A Master P biopic will begin filming summer 2017

This summer, in New Orleans, a new biopic about No Limit Records founder Percy Miller, also known as Master P, will begin filming.

According to a recent press release, the film, King of the South, will follow Miller’s life from childhood to hip-hop mogul success. It will star Queen Latifah and Wendell Pierce and will heavily feature the setting of New Orleans.

In order to capture the “authentic” feeling of New Orleans, Master P is asking natives to be part of the project: “I believe there are so many talented actors and actresses that just need a shot.”

“The timing is right for me to tell my story,” P said in a statement. “It was tough back then especially being from the South, New Orleans was the murder capital at the time. I want others to learn from my mistakes and understand my work ethic of never giving up, no matter what it may look like.”
