Anthony Anderson on Bill Cosby Guilty Verdict: ‘Shouldn’t have Any Thing to Do with Professional Life’

Anthony Anderson has spoken out about Bill Cosby’s guilty verdict in his sexual assault case and he says the legendary comedian’s legacy shouldn’t be tarnished because of it.

“Anything that anyone does in their personal life shouldn’t have anything to do with their professional life,” the “Black-ish” star tells “ET Canada” Thursday, May 10. “Because if that were the case — not only with Cosby but with other leaders and with other people that were in this country who did horrible and heinous things — we can’t start with him. Let’s go back to the beginning of time and right all the wrongs that every man has ever done if that’s what we’re going to do. That’s just my opinion.”

Last month, Cosby was convicted on three counts of aggravated sexual assault against former Temple University employee Andrea Constand.

Anderson himself is no stranger to sexual assault allegations. He was charged with rape in 2004 before a judge ruled it was “absolutely the most suspicious case I’ve ever heard,” Entertainment Weekly reported.
