Bill Cosby Won’t Be Charged for Alleged Molestation at the Playboy Mansion

Screen Shot 2014-12-17 at 11.34.54 AMLos Angeles prosecutors yesterday decided not to file any charges against Bill Cosby for the alleged molestation of Judy Huth in 1974.

Huth is one of many women who have come forward with claims that the comedian molested or attempted to molest them over 15 years ago.

Because Huth waited until this year to come forward, the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office wasn’t able to do anything because the statute of limitations had passed.

Huth claimed in a civil suit that Cosby forced her to do sexual activities with him in the Playboy Mansion when she was only 15.

Cosby’s lawyer, Martin Singer, says Huth’s claims “are absolutely false” and her case “fails to state sufficient facts to constitute a cause of action for claims arising out of alleged childhood sexual abuse,” in court documents filed on Dec. 3rd.

He also claimed that Huth has tried to extort $250,000 from Cosby before she sued and that this isn’t the first time she’s been peddling this story for fame, as she’d tried to sell her story to a tabloid about ten years ago.

Huth claims that she has had no contact with Cosby since the alleged incident.

The current statute of limitations for filing a misdemeanor case is one year. In 1974 the statute of limitations for a felony sex crime was three years, so by both standards the time frame has passed.

“It is our understanding that the decision not to prosecute was based on the statute of limitations and not on the merits of Ms. Huth’s claims,” Huth’s attorney, Gloria Allred, wrote in a statement.

Cosby’s lawyer has continued to deny all allegations of molestations from the more than 15 woman who have come forward.

“The new, never-before-heard claims from women who have come forward in the past two weeks with unsubstantiated, fantastical stories about things they say occurred 30, 40 or even 50 years ago have escalated past the point of absurdity,” Singer said in a statement.

The Cosby camp has been quiet on the subject until “The Cosby Show” creator’s wife Camille finally spoke up on Monday.

“He is a kind man, a generous man, a funny man, and a wonderful husband, father and friend. He is the man you thought you knew,” she wrote in a statement.
