Black San Francisco State Student Confronts White Student with DreadLocks (Video)
San Francisco State University police are investigating a campus incident where a Black female student confronted a dreadlocked white student about cultural appropriation.
Monday, two students were recorded having a discussion about cultural appropriation in an SFSU hallway in the Cesar Chavez Student Center. Since then, the video has gone viral across multiple social media platforms.
Viewers can see that the Black student confronted the white male about wearing dreadlocks.
The woman and man got into a heated exchange and pushed and shoved each other a bit. Two males were looking on. One held the camera and the other was in the middle of the two.
Details about what caused the confrontation have not been released. University officials released a statement regarding Monday’s cultural appropriation incident, stating that there is an active investigation going on.
We are aware of the video made of an incident which occurred on campus yesterday afternoon. University police were called to the scene of the incident when it occurred. The two individuals involved in the incident are not San Francisco State University employees. Further, no criminal charges have been pressed at this time to the University’s knowledge.
