Camille Cosby appears at court for first time in husband’s trial

On Monday, Bill Cosby’s wife, Camille, arrived to court on the beleaguered comedian’s arm for the first time since his sexual assault trial began.

Camille Cosby was gone for the entire previous week of the trial, which had more than a few eyebrows raised at the conspicuous absence. In most sexual assault cases, the jury likes to see the spouse of the accused showing support; otherwise, it looks like an admission of guilt.

Prior to his wife’s appearance, Cosby had been coming to court with other comedians as well as some former Cosby Show costars such as Keisha Knight-Pulliam.

Cosby, whose comedic career was left in tatters after dozens of women came forward accusing him of sexually assaulting and drugging them, is in court for the case brought against him by Andrea Constand, who took the stand last week to describe how she was given drugs and then assaulted by the comedian.

TMZ reports that Cosby’s defense is debating whether or not to call him to the stand to testify in the trial, because there is some concern that statements made in his deposition could be used against him, as he had admitted to giving women quaaludes for sexual purposes.
