Dawn Richards appears in blackface in new music video
Dawn Richards of Diddy’s Dirty Money, which consists of Diddy, Richards and songwriter Kalenna Harper, has recently released her latest music video entitled “Automatic” off of her solo debut album. The album entitled Armor On is Richards’ chance to get out of the shadows of her mentor Diddy and the reality show Making the Band.
The music video has more choreography than usual from the singer, as well as a storyline you can follow. The video contains daring visuals as Richards transforms a gold-skinned slave to a bad girl with a wig and blackface.
The blackface in the video is sure to garner attention and discussion. Whether it’s an attempt to upstart her stagnant career or just a move to provoke fan reaction is up for debate.
