Draymond Green: ‘Teams are trying to punk us’ Following the Warriors’ physical matchup with the Suns, Draymond Green said opposing teams are being more aggressive against Golden State

According to Draymond Green, the Golden State Warriors are prepared to reach for the brass knuckles and Vaseline if necessary.

Following the Warriors’ 106-100 win over the Phoenix Suns on Sunday, Green was asked by reporters if he believes opposing teams are being more aggressive, verbally and physically, on the court.

“Definitely, definitely,” Green said. “I think even more so physically — teams are trying to punk us. It’s fine, we’re not going to get punked.”

In Sunday’s game, there was one instance of a physical exchange between the teams. During a Golden State possession in the second quarter, Warriors guard Stephen Curry was knocked down from behind by Suns guard Brandon Knight on a 3-point attempt. Curry, who was visibly upset by the no-call from officials, proceeded to shove Knight to the sideline.

The Warriors, who undoubtedly have an even larger target on their backs than they did last season after the addition of Kevin Durant in the offseason, have won two straight games after a 29-point loss to the San Antonio Spurs in their season opener.
