‘F*ck Donald Trump’: Protests erupt across nation following election

Almost as soon as the election results came in declaring Donald Trump the 45th president of the United States, protests erupted around the country.

The biggest protests were on the West Coast, where the hour wasn’t quite as late as it was in other parts of the country when Trump’s victory was announced. Two rallies at UCLA merged into one with almost 2,000 participants, for example. Hundreds also marched at UC Santa Barbara, shouting chants of “Not my president.”

“When our communities are under attack, what do we do? Stand up, fight back,” chanted protesters in Oakland who burned Trump in effigy.

University of California students were seen with “F–k Trump, F–k Racism” signs and also taking up the chant “not our president.”

Other protests also broke out in San Jose, Washington, D.C., and Seattle.

“We are making noise,” one protester in Seattle told KGW. “We are telling Donald Trump that we don’t like that he’s here. I feel like we’re doomed. This can’t be real.”

On the other hand, a group of about 30 Trump supporters gathered at the media mogul’s star at the Walk of Hollywood to celebrate the win, chanting, “This is our president,” and “USA.”
