FBI Investigates School Shooting Threats Aimed Specifically at Black Students In Missouri High School

FBI officials are investigating threats targeted towards Black students attending Northeast High School in Kansas City, Missouri.

Kansas City Police department says the threats were initially made out of state towards a school with a similar name, however, someone reposted it locally on Snapchat.

Many different posts were made promising to mark Black students, using the racial slur “niggers”. One Snapchat posts read: “ATTENTION STUDENTS OF NORTHEAST HIGH SCHOOL be prepared to be shot down tomorrow during a block lunch approximately 10 minutes after the bell. Only aiming for n***ers though”

Another picture read, “So excited to see the blood of helpless students as rounds and rounds pierce through the skin of the innocent see all of you in a few hours p.s. not just aiming for students everyone can get some.”

Worried parents showed the posts to KSHB a local news station and FBI officials are now involved. The person who reposted the threats is also cooperating with authorities.

The high school increased their school security amid the threats and remained under “no entry status”.

Ray Weikal the Kansas City Public Schools spokesperson said, “As always, student safety is our top priority. Our own security team is doing an investigation and we are cooperating closely with the Kansas City Police Department investigators. At this point, we have determined that it is safe to continue with school uninterrupted but with enhanced security.”

Kansas City, Missouri School District leaders have reassured parents and students that they and the police are aware and still investigating.
