Heartbreaking: #AltonSterling’s Teenage Son Weeps Uncontrollably as Mother Talks About Father’s Killing in News Conference
Today, the partner, son and family attorney of 37-year-old slain Baton Rouge, Louisiana CD salesman Alton Sterling appeared in a news conference to solidify Sterling’s family-man legacy and to prepare for pending litigation.
In the news conference, Sterling’s 15-year-old son fights back tears as his mother talks about the man’s death by Baton Rouge police on July 5.
“He [her son Cameron Sterling] had to watch this as this was put all over the outlets,” Sterling’s partner Quinyetta McMillan tells reporters. “As a mother I have now been forced to raise a son who is going to remember what happened to his father.”
McMillan emphasizes Sterling’s dedication to his family and being a provider.
“The individuals involved in his murder took away a man with children who depended upon their daddy on a daily basis,” McMillan states. He “simply tried to earn a living to take care of his children.”
Attorney Edmond Jordan wants an independent investigation with Louisiana State Police taking over.
