Jay Z sued by Prince’s record company

Prince’s NPG Records is suing Jay Z’s Roc Nation for streaming the late artist’s music.

According to the suit, Roc Nation had been given permission by Prince to stream only songs from one of his album, and the company is suing Roc Nation for streaming songs not included on that album on Tidal.

–Jay Z makes offer to buy Prince’s unreleased music–

These songs include “Purple Rain,” “Little Red Corvette” and “1999” and allegedly began streaming six weeks after Prince’s death despite not having permission.

However, Roc Nation has argued that they received permission from Prince to stream these songs before his death.

NPG Records is filing suit to stop the streaming and is seeking damages.
