Cell phone video of a Korean business owner in Georgia assaulting one of his employees over an incorrect order is making rounds on social media, sparking outrage.

The incident unfolded Friday at Doo’s Seafood and Deli in the Atlanta suburb of Snellville after restaurant owner “Mr. Lee” grew upset after a Black employee refunded a customer $8.47 for messing up a food order.

“An Asian man hit his Black employee because his wife was mad at me because she had to give me a refund for $8.47,” Markus Moultrie, the customer who recorded the incident, said in a Facebook post.

“She told her employee she had to pay for my meal,” Moultrie continued. “I told her that’s nonsense; if you’re the one who f*cked up my order then you need to pay for it, not your employee.”

Video of the incident shows the worker, identified as Junea Turner, arguing with Lee over the incorrect order, as the two loudly debate over who was really at fault. Lee reportedly threatened to take the $8 refund out of Turner’s paycheck, which Moultrie contested.

“It’s really not her fault sir,” the customer says.

The one-minute clip, unfortunately, does not show the moment Lee allegedly slapped the employee, however, the man recording appears to confirm with several witnesses that the Turner was hit.

“He pushed me and I went backwards like this, and I had to grab the other employees so I didn’t fall down,” Turner told local station CBS 46. “…And then he grabbed me by my shirt, basically like this, and then he grabbed my shirt and my breast at the same time, trying to sling me out that side door.”

Another employee of the restaurant, who asked to remain unnamed, said that’s not exactly how things went down. The employee said Lee never touched Turner until 30 minutes after demanding she leave the restaurant. Turner’s shift reportedly ended at 4 p.m. but she was still behind the counter arguing with the owners at 4:30, possibly about the refund incident. That’s when the assault occurred.

Surveillance video from inside the restaurant seems to support the worker’s claims. Though there’s no sound, the video shows Lee snatch a to-go plate from Turner’s hands, throw it on the floor and shove her before motioning for her to get out. Lee does not hit Turner in the face, per se, but he did put his hands on her.

According to CBS 46, Gwinnett County police were called to the eatery and, after speaking to witnesses and watching the video, decided the shove wasn’t forceful enough to warrant an arrest. Officers suggested Turner go to the courthouse and obtain a warrant herself if she still wishes to press charges.
