It’s our birthday! We’ve had an absolutely phenomenal first year, and it wouldn’t have been possible without y’all. This week we were floored by a modern-day account of slavery, and responses to it. We’re excited about this Missy Elliott profile, and the rise of women coaching men. But we’re not excited about Marvel canceling the Black Panther & The Crew comics (though this is sure to keep the Panther light bright). While black film leads are strong at the box office, and confederate memorials are coming down in New Orleans, this reported discrimination in Mississippi seems extremely troubling always. Our list of the 50 greatest black athletes is coming in July (but first, check out who didn’t make it). We weigh in on avocado toast, too: don’t forget to tweet us your thoughts!
