A memo rumored to have been issued by Steve Harvey is making the rounds and turning heads for the talk show host requesting that his longtime staff not approach him without making an appointment.

The notice was sent ahead of the fifth season “The Steve Harvey Show” and was obtained by a decades-long Chicago media blogger named Robert Feder. Harvey allegedly told staff he wants to maintain his personal life and demanded that staff not meet with him in his dressing room or ambush him in the hallways.

“Do not come to my dressing room unless invited,” he allegedly wrote. “Do not open my dressing room door. IF YOU OPEN MY DOOR, EXPECT TO BE REMOVED. My security team will stop everyone from standing at my door who have the intent to see or speak to me. I want all the ambushing to stop now. That includes TV staff. You must schedule an appointment. I have been taken advantage of by my lenient policy in the past. This ends now. NO MORE.”

Harvey’s current iteration of his daytime talk show will conclude this year and the comedian will launch a new show in its place, simply titled “Steve,” in the fall. “Steve” will switch locations from Chicago to Los Angeles and Radar Online reported his many of his current employees were not offered jobs on the new show.

“The only contact the staff has heard about the show moving to L.A. with Steve was an email sent at the beginning of [the] year that basically said not to stop him in the office, that he was too busy to talk,” a staffer told the website Tuesday, May 2.

Harvey’s reported memo concluded by urging employees not to “take offense to the new way of doing business.”

“It is for the good of my personal life and enjoyment,” he said.

Harvey has not publicly responded to the memo going public.

Online, reactions to the 60-year-old’s reported request were mixed.

A couple of people found it humorous.

Some praised the policy.

Others felt it was unkind.
