Mike Brown’s legacy to be memorialized in new film by Warner Bros.

On Monday, Warner Bros. confirmed that they are memorializing the legacy of Michael Brown in a new movie.

Lezley McSpadden’s memoir, Tell the Truth & Shame the Devil: The Life, Legacy and Love of My Son Michael Brownwill be the basis of the film, with a Warner Bros. representative confirming on Monday to the Huffington Post that the film was already in the early development stages.

Michael Brown was shot and killed on August 9, 2014, by Ferguson Officer Darren Wilson. Witnesses said that Brown had his hands up and asked the officer not to shoot, and while other accounts contradicted this, “Hands up; don’t shoot” became a rallying cry for those protesting police brutality.

On Thursday, The Tracking Board reported that the movie would follow the same style as 2004’s “Crash,” following several intertwined characters’ stories.
