Mother of 2-Year-Old Scared of Easter Bunny Fired Up After Viral Video Is Shared Without Permission

A video of a 2-year-old terrified of the Easter bunny has quickly become a viral sensation, much to the displeasure of the girl’s mother.

“It should be an eye-opener that this is not funny, that my child is hurt,” Cassandra Bryson tells “Today” Friday, April 6.

Bryson said she signed a form disallowing Around the World Learning Center in Kissimmee, Fla., from photographing her child, but she said a 20-year-old staffer took the video anyway and posted it on Snapchat.

“Someone’s five seconds of entertainment or joy has caused my family a lot of distress,” she says.

The clip, which spurred memes replacing the Easter bunny with President Donald Trump, has led to lots of chatter online, with some seeing the humor and others saying it’s out of line.

“Dawg, Easter bunny came in dancing on they ass ,” a ticked Twitter user wrote.

“I’m cracking up,” someone else tweeted. “Boy, I almost pissed myself. This goes to show I can’t have kids.”

“There’s the video going around of an Easter bunny walking into a classroom and small children screaming in fear,” said someone else with a different take. “People thinking that video is funny is a marker of how messed up our culture/society is. Don’t @ me unless it’s to f—— apologize.”

“You made national news after making fun of a little girl scared of the Easter Bunny,” someone else fired off to Jimmy Kimmel after he poked fun at the child on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” “Hope no one does that to your kids. Jerk.”

Still, some local parents saw the humor in the clip. And while the daycare center declined to comment, Bryson said the owner has apologized for the incident.

Regardless, her toddler won’t be returning to Around the World Learning Center.

“She’s a human being and she deserves to be treated with dignity and respect and that’s not something that occurred on that day,” the mom says.
