Nicki Minaj album sales take a boost after Remy Ma beef

Remy Ma’s beef with Nicki Minaj is helping Minaj more than hurting her, if album sales are anything to go by.

Just in the last chart week, sales for Pink Friday, Minaj’s debut album, soared, rising 81 percent as fans rushed to support Minaj after Remy’s diss track, “SHether,” was released, this according to Minaj in a recent Instagram post. Her 2014 album, The Pinkprint, enjoyed a reported 79 percent increase in sales.

Those numbers don’t include streaming data.

Pink Friday was released in November 2010 and sold 1 million units in its opening month, going on to out-sell Rihanna’s Loud, which debuted that same month, in the U.S.

So if Remy was hoping to hit Nicki Minaj where it hurts, it looks like she may have done exactly the opposite.

What’s more, Minaj’s new record “No Frauds,” a response to Remy’s “SHEther,” is currently the number two song on iTunes music.

Minaj recently bragged about her boost in album sales on Instagram.
