Parents Of Missing Black Girl Doubt They’re Being Told Everything

ABS_jasmine-moodyJasmine Moody, an 18-year-old college student at Texas Women’s University, has been missing since Dec. 4, when she visited Detroit to see a friend.

According to police, Moody and the girlfriend she was visiting got into an argument on the day she went missing. The friend claimed that Moody stormed out of the house and left behind all of her belongings, according to NewsOne.

Moody was last seen wearing a white University of Texas hoodie, blue jeans and brown boots. Her height is listed at 5’5” and weighs 130 pounds. She has brown eyes and black medium length hair. She was last seen leaving her friends house in the 3700 block of Baldwin at 7:30 p.m.

Information about Moody’s whereabouts should be reported to the Detroit Police at (313) 596-5752 or the Black and Missing Foundation’s confidential Tip Line.

Moody’s parents, Lisa Nichols and Patrick Kidd, are skeptical that they’re being told the whole story. They said that the two girls met through Twitter.

“I need to know what happened to my daughter that’s why I’m here,” Lisa Nichols told FOX News Detroit. “I’m just not believing that she would just get angry… Get into an argument and just leave.”

“I do not believe the story one bit,” Nichols said. “The truth is not being told. Something happened and I would like to know what it is.

Detroit Police and Michigan State Police found no evidence after searching the home of Moody’s friend. The friend has been hospitalized for anxiety and other incidents since Moody went missing, according to My Fox in Detroit.

Texas Woman’s University expressed their concern for Moody through a statement released to NewsOne.

“Texas Woman’s University extends our thoughts to the family and friends of TWU student Jasmine Moody, who disappeared in Detroit on Dec. 4.  TWU is cooperating with the Detroit Police Department and the Michigan State Police in the investigation,” the statement said.

The Detroit Police have called on the public to help them find Moody.

“My daughter is out there somewhere, and I hope she’s still alive but I don’t believe it because she would’ve contacted us,” Kidd said.
