Actress Regina King will be involved with some of today’s top-rated television shows as her return to The Big Bang Theory, new season-long role on American Crime, and director’s position on Scandal have all been confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter.

While American Crime is a new upcoming drama that will air on ABC, The Big Bang Theory and Scandal are already well-established, top-rated, unstoppable forces in their respective TV genres, and King will have her hand in all of these shows.

King has signed on to join John Ridley’s new ABC drama American Crime in the role of a devoutly religious character that will extend the length of an entire season.

The new drama will follow a web of people who are involved in a racially charged trial that has caused a major shakeup in all of their lives.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that another character by the name of Carter will come to Modesto, where the show is set, to help her brother who she believes is being targeted by a less-than-fair judicial system.

King will be playing Carter’s sister.

Timothy Hutton and Felicity Huffman will also be starring in the ABC drama.

Filming for the show will continue until November, which means King will have to film for one episode of  The Big Bang Theory, while also taping for American Crime.

In July, it was confirmed that King will be starring on No. 1 rated comedy The Big Bang Theory yet again, in the role of director of human resources at the university where the four main characters work.

Her character was last seen hounded by Dr. Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons), Dr. Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki), Dr. Raj Koothrappali (Kunal Nayyar) and Dr. Barry Kripke (John Ross Bowie), as they all competed for a tenure position at the university.

The seventh season of The Big Bang Theory will be returning to CBS on Sept. 26 at 8 p.m., with back-to-back episodes.

King will be wrapping up her major TV takeover by directing an episode of the hit ABC drama Scandal, in February.

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that King will be in charge of directing the show’s 16th episode of the fourth season.

To some fans’ dismay, however, King will not have an on-screen role on the series, and will not be joining forces with its star actress, Kerry Washington.
