Rihanna takes Oprah for a ride in Barbados

This weekend Oprah took a break from filming Lee Daniel’s upcoming drama The Butler, and jetted off to catch up with Rihanna in her native Barbados. The “We Found Love” singer is set to appear on Oprah’s Next Chapter, airing August 19 on OWN.

Both Oprah and Rihanna tweeted about their weekend rendezvous. “What a refreshing surprise she is!” Oprah wrote. She then tweeted out a photo of her walking with Rihanna, leaving Sandy Lane Resort.

Rihanna then took to Twitter to express her excitement, saying, “Look who popped up in my Hometown BARBADOS #topnotch.” She included a photo of the twosome in a car with Rihanna behind the wheel.

Oprah revealed that she would be interviewing Rihanna back in June when a fan tweeted to her, asking if she would interview the “Umbrella” singer on Oprah’s Next Chapter. Oprah replied “@rihanna she’s coming soon,” and later revealed in another tweet that the interview is set to air August.

Last week Discovery’s chief executive, David Zaslav revealed that OWN’s ratings were up more than 50 percent from last quarter. Oprah’s Rihanna interview is sure to keep ratings going strong for OWN.
