Soul of the South launches: A new cable network for African-Americans

The Soul of the South Network will launch a 24-hour channel that targets African-Americans television viewers in the South. The SSN is based out Little Rock, the network will be made available in the Atlanta, Memphis and Orlando markets. According to TVNewser, the network is plans to air five hours of news each day, reaching 62 percent of African-American households. TVNewser reports:

There’s a new network news operation coming to television — at least if you live in the southern U.S., and a few select northern cities.

Soul of the South News, or SSN, is part of the Soul of the South network, created for and by African Americans in the South. Headquartered in Little Rock, the network is expected to be available in markets including Atlanta, Memphis and Orlando reaching 62% of African American households.
