Style Watch: Venus Williams is picture perfect in summer yellow trend, discusses health on 'CBS This Morning'

Fresh off her 13th Grand Slam doubles title win with her partner and sister Serena Williams, Venus Williams was photographed this morning on her way to the CBS This Morning studios strutting in a sunny frock, with a stunning smile to match. Williams was snapped on her way to discuss many personal revelations, including an update on her battle with Sjogren’s syndrome, a debilitating autoimmune disease.

The tennis champion wore “a vibrant yellow $256 Torn by Ronny Kobo Kaitlyn Pleated Dress and $117 Stuart Weitzman Glittered Ballerina Flats,” according to black celebrity style site  The Fashion Bomb. No stilettos were needed for Williams’ mile long legs, which looked sexy and summery as she flawlessly executed this season’s yellow trend.

On yellow as the hottest color of the moment, Clutch magazine states that “every now and again, a style reaches prominence that is actually worth embracing. Yellow is one of the few sensations that rises above the fray.” The black women’s online destination adds that the “hue looks resplendent against glowing brown skin and is perfect for energizing a neutral wardrobe with a shot of vibrant color.”

While her yellow ensemble certainly helps to paint Williams as the portrait of glowing health, she still struggles with Sjogren’s syndrome every day. “Dry eyes and dry mouth are the hallmark symptoms, but fatigue can be so heavy that sitting in a chair is a huge effort,” she told CBS This Morning about the disorder. “So, as a professional athlete, if you have fatigue, then that’s tough. You can also have joint pain” and “issues with your internal systems,” she said.

Venus has coped with these afflictions in part by adopting a raw food vegan diet, which has helped combat her symptoms.

Of maintaining the restrictive eating style, Williams admitted,  “I’m not perfect, so I forgive myself when I make mistakes,” while elaborating, “I do a lot of juicing as well, a lot of wheat grass shots… lots of fresh juices and things like that.”
