T.I. Gives Unexpected Answer After Being Asked if Next Four Years Will be Rough for Non-Whites

During a recent interview with TMZ, Atlanta rapper T.I. comments on his participation in a  New York #NotMyPresident anti-Trump protest in wake of Donald Trump’s ascendancy to the presidency.

By Wednesday, college and high school students nationwide took the streets to vent their collective frustration with the president-elect. Many felt jaded with the election results. Others feared a possible white backlash aimed at Black people, Muslims, and other minorities in the nation.

However, the rapper says that he joined thousands of counter-Trump protesters Wednesday in an attempt to let others know that he did not support Trump’s 2016 campaign and he will not support his subsequent presidency. In addition, he states that his participation is much more personal.

“… I just wanted to be able to look my kids in the eye and tell them that I’ve done everything that the Constitution allows me to do,” he says in Thursday’s interview. “… [White supremacists] they feel that they now have a spokesperson and that can be dangerous. ”

After being asked if Trump’s first term would be rough for Black people and others, T.I. says that there are causalities on both sides. “It is what it is.”
