Trump responds to Snoop Dogg’s controversial music video

On Wednesday morning, President Donald Trump took to Twitter to denounce Snoop Dogg after his most recent music video, for the remixed song “Lavender,” showed him pointing a gun at a clown made up to look like Trump.

“Can you imagine what the outcry would be if @SnoopDogg, failing career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama? Jail time!” Trump tweeted.

In the music video, Snoop Dogg does indeed point a gun at the Trump clown and pulls the trigger, but the gun is a fake, producing not bullets but a “bang” banner instead.

Trump isn’t the only one speaking out against the video. Senator Marco Rubio also told TMZ that “Snoop shouldn’t have done that.”

“We’ve had presidents assassinated before in this country, so anything like that is something people should be really careful about,” Rubio said, adding that if the “wrong person sees that and gets the wrong idea, you could have a real problem.”
