Van Jones Drags Former GA Rep. For Attacking Parkland School Survivors

CNN contributor Van Jones was sure to call out former Rep. Jack Kingston (R-GA) and President Trump for attacking the Florida school shooting survivors.

Nikolas Cruz, 19, killed 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Surviving students were devastated but motivated to plan anti-gun demonstrations. However, Kingston questioned the intentions of the students and stated it was the spiteful work of “left-wing gun control activists.” His comments followed after Trump blamed the FBI for missing the signals.

However, Kingston statements and Trump’s tweets didn’t fly over too well with the CNN host who defended the valiant students.

“It’s so tough to see the distinction between those young people who are so clear, so forthright. Disagree with them, don’t like their policies, if you feel that way, that’s fine”, Jones exclaimed.

“But if you look at the character of these young people, how clear they are, how forthright they are, how much integrity they have, and to have that — right up against these presidential tweets — you couldn’t imagine a more juvenile response to a mass killing of children than to use that opportunity to try to stick your finger in the eye of the people who you didn’t like before, anyway.”

Kingston tried to validate his conspiracy theory,” It would shock me if they did a nationwide rally and the pro-gun control left kept their hands off.”

Jones fired back. “When you say something like that, it’s so bad… Here’s the thing, it’s not fair — you’re sprinkling out there, that maybe these kids are illegitimate and that’s wrong.”
