Zendaya has always been outspoken about inclusiveness when it comes to race. But now, with the introduction of her second Daya by Zendaya collection, that inclusiveness has been expanded to encompass gender-neutral individuals.

“Everything I see for the brand is slowly starting to come true in the sense of how I wanted it to be very open,” Zendaya told People magazine Monday, May 8. “I wanted everybody to feel like they could wear it. I want it to feel inclusive and gender neutral.”

The singer-actress launched her apparel empire with shoes in 2015 and it has since expanded into a full-scale clothing line with designer Law Roach. This year’s collection, which includes lots of copper-colored items, is available in sizes XS to XXL and is affordably priced at $18 to $54.

“I was inspired by different colors that really spoke to me,” Zendaya said. “There was this one copper color that I was obsessed with because I felt it looked so beautiful on everybody’s skin tones.”

Zendaya shared the same reasoning for why she recommends the slip dress in her collection.

“They’re beautiful on different skin tones and they’re easy to dress up and dress down,” she said. “You can wear them with sneakers, you can wear them with heels and it’s like a completely different look.”

Zendaya’s clothing line is an extension of her daring personal style choices, which fashionistas have take notice of at the star’s public appearances, including last year’s Met Gala. A year earlier at the Oscars, Zendaya’s white Vivienne Westwood gown was such a hit that Mattel issued a Barbie in her likeness wearing the dress.
