Business & Money -

Is Indecision Killing Your Business Dreams?

I’ve been in Tucson, Arizona for the past few days at a retreat with my business mentor.

Last year, I made the decision to join a high-level mastermind program with like-minded entrepreneurs from around the world. Every few months, we all get together for business training, personal development and lots of “aha” moments!

One of my biggest takeaways from this weekend came from one of my colleagues who said something so profound that may apply to where you are in your business.

“The decision comes first.”

So many times we sabotage our success in business because we’re trying to figure out all the nitty gritty details of the “how” before we allow ourselves to move forward.

For example, it required a five-figure investment to be in a mastermind, the most I’d ever spent on my business. But once I made the decision to join, finding the money was much easier than I thought.

When I first decided to become location-independent, I didn’t know everything I would need to do to make it happen, but I was willing to invest in myself to figure it all out.

I paid thousands of dollars to fly to Asia and attend a business retreat in Thailand so I could learn how to run my company from anywhere in the world.

I switched from using E-junkie to make sales to Ontraport, a comprehensive CRM with an all-in-one database, sales and email marketing system that allows me to earn money while I’m sleeping.

I went from doing everything on my own to hiring a team to help me implement my business plan, including a virtual assistant, graphic designer, web designer, copywriter, event planner, photographer, videographer, bookkeeper, CPA, etc.

Along the way, what I’ve learned is that to create massive results in your business, you really need to do 5 things:

  1. Make the decision that you are going to do whatever it takes to succeed, no matter what.
  2. Find several mentors who have been where you are and have already accomplished the goals you want to achieve (I have had at least 6 mentors throughout my entrepreneurial journey!).
  3. Get the proper training so you can get the skills you need to build a profitable business.
  4. Hire people who can help you implement so that you don’t get stuck as you take action.
  5. Promise to never give up on yourself despite all the failures you may experience as you grow your business!

The truth is, you have to take the first step before you can even begin to SEE the entire plan to get to 5 figures, 6 figures or even 7 figures in your business.

Making the decision to invest in myself was the turning point for me to get on the fast track to a life of freedom.

The good news is…you don’t have to stay in a 9 to 5 gig if you don’t want to.

You can accomplish your big goal to replace your income, quit your job and travel the world.

But only if you are willing to say YES to yourself.

If you keep saying “maybe,” or “one day,” it will cause confusion and stagnation in your business.

Saying “later” only makes things feel complicated when they don’t have to be.

It makes you a slave to FEAR.

Fear that you will fail.

But your legacy won’t be in the mistakes you didn’t make.

It will be in the powerful decisions you DID make that inspired everyone else around you to reach for the stars.

And that legacy?

It’s totally worth the risk.

Leave me a comment: Are you killing your business dreams by NOT making the decision to invest in yourself? What would become possible for you if you actually got the support you needed to move forward?
